India’s ace tennis player Sania Mirza was seen at the Sharjah cricket ground on Sunday (November 7) cheering fr her husband and Pakistan’s all-rounder Shoaib Malik in a T20 World Cup 2021 fixture against Scotland. The veteran cricketer gave a stunning performance to help Pakistan maintain its winning streak in the ongoing tournament.
Shoaib Malik walked out to bat for Pakistan in the 16th over when his team was reduced for 112 for 3. He joined hands with the skipper Babar Azam(66) for the fourth wicket and then took the game by storm.
Malik smashed the fastest-ever half-century for Pakistan in the history of the T20 World Cup. He smashed six sixes and a boundary to score an unbeaten 54 off 18 deliveries to help Pakistan score 189 for 4 in 20 overs. Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh holds the record of smashing the fastest-ever fifty in T20Is.
Malik’s knock was also the joint-fastest half-century of the ongoing T20 World Cup along with India’s KL Rahul’s effort against the same opponent on Friday.
As soon as Malik reached his fifty, his wife Sania Mirza was seen celebrating with joy. She was seen cheering and clapping for him in the stands.
