[Watch] Virat Kohli Hits Chahar On His Bum With The Bat After Pacer Interrupts His Running

RCB opener Virat Kohli and CSK seamer Deepak Chahar shared a hilarious moment during the CSK vs RCB match on Friday at Chepauk that ended with Kohli funnily hitting Chahar on his bum with the bat.

The IPL 2024 kick-started with CSK continuing its winning streak over RCB in Chennai – not it is 8-1 in CSK’s favour with the last and only win in Chennai coming way back in 2008. CSK won by 6 wickets and 8 balls to spare while chasing the target of 174 runs.

Virat Kohli, who had been on a break for the past two months, didn’t have an ideal return as he managed 21 runs in 20 balls. Kohli did have some fun with Deepak Chahar, CSK’s premier new-ball pacer.

After Virat Kohli tapped the ball for an easy single off Chahar’s bowling, Chahar cheekily tried to come in between Kohli’s running between the wickets. Kohli realised that Chahar was trying to have some fun with him and he too got involved by giving Chahar a timid shoulder push.

Then as Chahar started to walk back to his bowling mark, Kohli nudged him by hitting Chahar on his bum with his bat, very softly. The CSK seamer let out a heart chuckle at it and walked to his bowling mark.

This cute interaction between Virat Kohli and Deepak Chahar went viral:

CSK vs RCB: Virat Kohli Trolled On Twitter For His 21 (20) Slow Knock On Comeback

RCB’s total of 173 runs felt under-par – as it was also said by Dinesh Karthik during the mid-innings break – and it proved to be so as CSK won with 8 balls to spare.

The scrutiny once again went on Virat Kohli for his slow knock of 21 (20). Kohli, who was returning after a long break, set himself in for a big knock, however, the RCB opener couldn’t kick in after his slow start and holed out at deep mid-wicket off the bowling of Mustafizur Rahman, who picked four wickets in the game and earned the Player of the Match award.

In his knock of 20 balls, Kohli was able to hit only six and no boundary, despite batting the entire powerplay. CSK applied the chokehold and he was unable to bat for long. Kohli would be looking to bounce back with a strong performance in the coming games as his position in India’s T20 World Cup squad is under threat.
