Yashasvi Jaiswal And Rohit Sharma Smashed Stunning Pull Shots For Sixes

India openers, captain Rohit Sharma and youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal, carried on their good form and sublime touch from the first Test in Dominica to the second Test in Port of Spain against the West Indies, continuing their domination on the hosts and both did it in some style.

After being inserted in to bat first in the second Test, in Trinidad, one would have thought that Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal would like to bide their time against the West Indies seamers as they was some moisture in the surface.

But the two openers went about their business in their usual mode and got regular boundaries, including mirror image pull shot sixes from the pair, as the hosts bowlers looked toothless in the face of bowling to an experienced campaigner, and perhaps the best all-format opener at the moment, and another being one of the most talented, aggressive young batters in the world.

The two pull shot sixes from both the batters sent the fans’ jaws to drop. First, Rohit Sharma pulled Roach in his traditional manner over deep square leg off the front foot. An over later, it was time for Jaiswal to show off his back foot game by pulling Joseph over deep mid-wicket.

Earlier, West Indies skipper Kraigg Brathwaite won the toss and elected to bowl first, citing some moisture in the surface as the reason for his decision, although that hasn’t been vindicated by his pacers as the pitch has looked flat and looking that it will be more and more difficult to bat as the match progressed. WI will have to play Jadeja and Ashwin in the 4th innings.

WI handed a debut to Kirk McKenzie while pacer Shannon Gabriel came in the XI. For India, Mukesh Kumar gets to make his Test debut in place of the injured Shardul Thakur.
