When India was celebrating Virat Kohli’s double-hundred, Harmanpreet Kaur gave a match-winning performance in WBBL

On 12th December when Indian cricket fans were celebrating Team India’s brilliant performance in the fourth Test of the ongoing series and hailing Virat Kohli for his spectacular innings at Wankhede stadium in Mumbai, India’s woman cricketer Harmanpreet Kaur took 4-27 with the ball and then smashed 30 runs off just 21 balls to help Sydney Thunder seal an eight-wicket win over Melbourne Stars in the Women’s edition of the Big Bash League (WBBL).

Former Australian wicketkeeper-batsman and a legend of the game, Adam Gilchrist, was so impressed with Harmanpreet’s performance that he took to Twitter and praised her match-winning effort.

“Seriously impressed with @ImHarmanpreet in last nights #WBBL02 Classy, skillful. A wonderful addition to the tournament.”

Earlier, Haramanpreet Kaur became the first Indian woman cricketer to be signed by a BBL franchise. Harmanpreet also led India to the Asian T20 Cup title earlier this month and marshalled her troops to a 17-run victory over arch-rivals Pakistan in a thrilling final.
