Which Team Will Qualify If In RCB vs GT Match Rain Plays Spoilsport?: It’s down to the last day of the league phase of IPL 2023 and three teams remain in contention for one remaining playoff spot.
Gujarat Titans, Chennai Super Kings, and Lucknow Super Giants have sealed the top 3 spots in the playoffs. For the remaining one spot, the three teams who are in contention are Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Mumbai Indians, and Rajasthan Royals.
Two of those teams – MI and RCB – will be in action today: MI are hosting SRH at the Wankhede while RCB will host GT at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Both MI and RCB are at 14 points but RCB has a much better NRR than MI. So if RCB win they will qualify for playoffs even if MI win in the afternoon match. However, if RCB lose and MI win, MI will go through. If both lose, then RR will also get into contention as they too have 14 points and then it will come down to NRR.
There is also another possibility that has arised because of heavy rains in Bangalore on Saturday and Sunday.
RCB might not even get a chance to play and fight for their playoff spot because rain could play spoilsport and the RCB vs GT match could be washed out.
The pre-monsoon rains have arrived in Bangalore and it could hurt RCB and cost them a playoff spot. As per the forecast it is expected to rain heavily on Sunday evening and the RCB vs GT match could be either shortened or worse washed out completely.
What happens if RCB vs GT match is washed out due to rain? Will RCB qualify?

If the RCB vs GT match is washed out, and if MI wins over SRH, then MI will qualify for playoffs. If MI loses to SRH, then RCB will qualify for playoffs.
