Earlier this month, Mitchell Starc became the most expensive player in the IPL history when the Kolkata Knight Riders bought his services for a whopping INR 24.75 crore at the IPL 2024 auction, only about 90 minutes after the Sunrisers Hyderabad had made Pat Cummins the then most expensive player with their INR 20.5 crore acquisition.
The third member of Australia’s all-time great pace trio, Josh Hazlewood, went unsold as Hazlewood will miss the first month of the IPL 2024 due to his wife’s pregnancy as she is expected to give birth to their child in April.
Now, just a day after the auction, someone reported that Mitchell Starc could also miss the IPL, or the start of it, as his wife, the Australian women’s team captain Alyssa Healy, is reportedly five months pregnant. According to this Twitter account, @muffadaal_vohra, Alyssa Healy’s due date would be around April.

This post went viral and got more than 11k likes on Twitter. It made the KKR fans upset that Mitchell Starc could potentially miss partial of full IPL 2024 season.
So what is the truth? Is Alyssa Healy really pregnant? Will Mitchell Starc miss the IPL 2024?
No. Alyssa Healy is not pregnant as she is currently playing a Test match in India. This news if fake and fabricated for attention on Twitter by this user.
After the IPL 2024 auction, speaking about the bumper price, Mitchell Starc said he got a “bit of a shock” but is excited to play for KKR.
Starc told Star Sports: “I’m not sure any words would do it justice, really. Alyssa was over there with the Australian team at the minute, so her coverage was slightly ahead of mine here in Australia. So she sort of saw the numbers before I did, so I was getting the updates through her. But, yeah, a fair bit of shock, and certainly excitement with how it was all unfolding. But nothing that I could’ve ever imagined. Thoroughly thrilled to be joining KKR.”
