India will start their World Cup 2015 campaign against the arch-rivals Pakistan. The whole cricketing world is excited about this fixture as India-Pakistan rivalry is said to be one of the greatest rivalries in the game of cricket.

Such is the excitement for this epic clash that general tickers were sold out in just 12 minutes, and there over 50,000 tickets available. However, the fans still can buy holiday and business packages.

The Australian Cricket board have invested a lot of money in enhancing the infrastructure of their stadiums. The Deputy Premier of South Australia John Rau, told the press that they are excited about the new look of the Adelaid stadium, and the encounter between the two arch-rivals India and Pakistan, will be a great fun to host and watch. He also said that they are expecting this match to be a full-house with over 20,000 fans from India.

As a government policy we have decided to have greater engagement with India, both cultural and business. We have a 10-year strategy for India and besides culture and trade, we want to promote sports as well,” said Rau.

The match between India Pakistan will be the first match of the World Cup 2015 for both the teams, and it will be played on the day 2 of the tournament.

Australia’s Prime Minister Tony Abbott  and India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi have talked about promoting cricket between both the nations. Last week India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was in Australia, tweeted about how cricket is a shared passion of Australia and India.

Cricket is a shared passion of Australia & India. I thank PM @TonyAbbottMHR for hosting me at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground.

India have never lost a World Cup match against Pakistan and they would want to keep this record going. Pakistan, on the other hand, would be keen to open their account in World Cup against their arch-rivals. This match will be a very important match for both the teams, as a win in the opening fixture, that too against the arch-rivals, will set the momentum for the rest of the tournament.
