Belief is the other name of religion. And religion is a way of life. Cricket in India is a fusion of all these facets and like the men in blue have shown in the field, the Indian cricket fans have proved why they are considered the best in the world. The ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 has been a spectacle to say the least and there have been overwhelming support for the Indian cricket team.

This is how the Indian cricket fans have proved they are the best in the world:

1. The SCG will BLEED BLUE: 70% of the 42,000 tickets have been bought by Indians

The tickets for the semi final game of Australia and India at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) has been sold out. What is interesting to note that 70% of the 42,000 tickets have been bought by Indians, which is close to 30,000 Indian fans! This overwhelming majority of Indian support has made the Australian skipper make a distress call to its supporters to come and watch the game in the stadium. Talk about support away from home and one only has to look at the contingent of blue Indian fans come Thursday at the SCG!

2. Patriotism at the Adelaide Oval: Over 40,000 Indians singing the national anthem

One just had to get goosebumps at the sight of seeing thousands of Indians singing the National Anthem in unison on the occasion of the opening game against Pakistan at the SCG. For a moment it almost felt like a national occasion, or maybe it was!

3. That Man Sudhir Kumar: “My only purpose in life is to support Indian cricket.”

If one has to look individually at the involvement of the fans there is no better example than Sudhir Kumar. The die-hard Sachin Tendulkar fan does occasionally have a meal or two at the Little Master’s residence but with that there is also a hidden story. Kumar does not have a source of income nor does he have a job. In fact he has foregone many such jobs just for the sake of being present wherever and whenever India plays. Add to that he does not talk to his family. You call him crazy? He says his only purpose in life is to support Indian cricket and is currently in Australia to support the Indian cricket team.

One just has to look at the never ending heavens to feel the spirit of the crazy Indian cricket fan. Limitless.
