The excitement around the  ICC World Cup 2023 Final is increasing with every passing day. The marquee tournament will take place at the world’s largest cricket stadium, Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, on November 19.

The much-awaited World Cup 2023 will begin on October 5, with 12 cities across India hosting the matches.

All the 10 teams will be locking horns with each other for the prestigious trophy for 46 days with a total of 48 matches in the same format as the 2019 edition of the world cup.

Meanwhile, according to a report by ESPNCricinfo, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamsala, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Indore, Rajkot, and Mumbai, these cities will host the most number of matches, however, there is still no official confirmation by the BCCI about the venue details.

2023 World Cup

However, the tournament’s schedule has not yet been released by the International Cricket Council (ICC), which usually does so a year in advance. According to the same report, the ICC had to wait for the BCCI to guarantee a tax exemption and visa clearance for the Pakistan cricket squad for the marquee tournament.

Notably, the 2023 edition of the World Cup is the fourth time that the tournament is taking place in India, however, this is the first time that the tournament will be entirely hosted in India. Earlier India has co-hosted the tournament with other countries including Pakistan in 1987, with Sri Lanka and Pakistan in 1996, and Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in 2011.

Narendra Modi Stadium Will Host The Final

The final match will be held at the biggest stadium in the world — Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, which has a capacity of 1,30,000 people. It will become the third venue in India to host the final of the cricket world cup after Eden Gardens of Kolkata (1987) and the iconic Wankede Stadium of Mumbai (2011).
