[World Cup 2023] ICC Announced List Of 31 Commentators; No Aakash Chopra

On Friday, the International Cricket Council (ICC) unveiled its full list of 31 star-studded commentators that will broadcast the World Cup 2023 action to viewers around the world. However, one big Indian name missing from this 31-commentator list is that of Aakash Chopra.

Chopra has formed himself as one of the more recognized voices in the matches of Team India and in the IPL over the past decade. Fans have grown with the voice of Aakash Chopra calling the game, but the 46-year-old won’t be seen commentating this time in the World Cup 2023.

This 31-member panel seems to be the biggest commentary team the ICC has ever assembled for a tournament. The warm-up matches started on September 29. The main tournament will kick-start on October 5 with a repeat of the 2019 World Cup final, with England taking on New Zealand.

The iconic trio that called the final moments of the 2019 World Cup – Nasser Hussain, Ian Smith and Ian Bishop – will be giving their voice again this year.

England’s 2019 World Cup-winning captain, Eoin Morgan, along with Aaron Finch and Dinesh Karthik, three players who played in the 2019 WC, have now donned the commentator’s hat this time for the World Cup 2023.

Also, more fun will be brought to the commentator’s box in the presence of former India coach Ravi Shastri. He will be joined by the likes of Bhogle, Hussain, Mbangwa, Ramiz Raja, and Manjrekar.

Former Australia openers Hayden and Watson, and their captain Ricky Ponting, too, will be part of the WC 2023 as commentators.
