India fast bowler Mohammed Shami has taken the ongoing World Cup 2023 by storm with his exceptional performances. He has been receiving praise from all corners for his brilliance with the ball. Shami picked a five-wicket haul as India defeated Sri Lanka by 302 runs at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Wasim Akram Gave The Best Compliment To Mohammed Shami
Speaking to A Sports, Akram said Shami gets rewarded for the lengths he bowls. He claimed that Shami gets that ability because he has experience in both red and white-ball cricket. He said:
“What a spell by Shami. He’s become the second bowler in the history of ODI World Cups to pick three five-wicket hauls. That’s a massive deal. He’s also picked the most wickets for India in ODI World Cups. He hits the seam hard, which makes the ball move inside and outside, and with good pace. He gets rewarded for the length he bowls. He bowls both red and white ball cricket,”
Further, Akram hailed Shami for his exceptional bowling, adding that India were toying with Sri Lankan batters in Mumbai. He said
“He doesn’t swing the ball much but his ball seams a lot. All the batters were trying to play on the back-foot. His overall performance has been exceptional. They were just toying around with these Sri Lankan batters. It was great to see,”
For the unversed, Shami has now picked up 14 wickets in just three matches in the 2023 World Cup.
Wasim Akram said that he has been impressed by Shami’s performance throughout the ODI World Cup. Talking about the same, Akram said: “I was so impressed by his bowling, not just in this game but the whole World Cup. He’s got 14 wickets in 3 games. You should wait for your turn and when it comes, you should try to shine which is what he did. Incredible performance and he is only going to get better, which is good news for world cricket,”
