When Jasprit Bumrah burst onto the Indian cricket scene, it was at a time when India was shifting from relying mainly on spinners to having a strong fast-bowling lineup. Under captain Virat Kohli and coach Ravi Shastri, there was a push to build a formidable team of fast bowlers.
Jasprit Bumrah Made A Big Revelation About Moving To Canada

Bumrah quickly became the face of this change. Whether it was Test matches, T20s, or ODIs, Bumrah’s unusual bowling action made it very difficult for opposing batsmen to predict and face him.
“You wanted to go to Canada and set up a new life there?” Sanjana, the fast bowler’s wife, asked Bumrah.
“We have had these conversations before. Every boy wants to make it big and play cricket. Every street has 25 players who want to play for India. You have to have a backup plan. Our relative lives there. I though I will finish my education and…my uncle lives there. First we though we would go as a family, then my mum did not want to go there as it’s a different culture. I am very happy and very lucky that things worked out, Otherwise I don’t know I would have tried to play for the Canadian team and do something there as well. Glad it worked out here. I am playing for the Indian team and Mumbai Indians,” Bumrah told on Jio Cinema.
Bumrah also talked about the time he had spent with MI and how it had shaped up the majority of his cricketing career. He said:
“Its been very good, came here as a 19-year-old…didn’t even think that I will play that year but then Jon Wright saw me and that’s it. Over the years, I have grown here and have had interesting journeys. We won the IPL five times and I was a part of all the winning squads, so yes, it has been a great journey,”
Bumrah reminisced about his early days with MI, recalling the experience of sharing the dressing room with cricket legends such as Sachin Tendulkar and Ricky Ponting. He said:
“I came here as a teenager, and in the early years when I came here I had not seen these players before… I played with Sachin Tendulkar, Mitchell Johnson was there. I was just looking at it and thought “am in the wrong place? This feels weird”… From there to now being 30, being a father, this team has seen my whole journey and I have grown as an individual. I didn’t even thibk that I would be here for this long, but I am really grateful to MI,”
