GT wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha showed his high-class keeping, presence of mind, and listening skills as well when he was the only one to convince skipper Hardik Pandya to take the review of PBKS batsman Jitesh Sharma.

The two sides met in Mohali on Thursday where pacer Mohit Sharma had Jitesh edging behind to the wicket-keeper, Saha, in the 13th over of PBKS’ innings.

It was a length ball from Mohit that went on straight, perhaps just seaming away very little. That was enough to beat Jitesh on his straight drive and take a faint edge. But the edge was so small, barely perceptible from the naked eye and on camera, that even Mohit Sharma the bowler didn’t hear it. And the GT skipper, standing in the circle also didn’t hear anything.

But, GT’s Wicket Keeper was alert and he heard something. He was seen suggesting that he’d heard a little noise as the ball passed the bat and he was the only once trying to convince Hardik to go for the review. After much persuasion by Wriddhi, Hardik signaled for the ‘T’ to take the review on the last second of the 15 seconds.

Saha was proven correct by the UltraEdge technology which showed a little murmur as the ball brushed the bat. The on-field umpire’s decision of Not Out was changed to Out.
