WTC Final

With the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League done and dusted, all the focus has now shifted to the upcoming ICC WTC Final 2023. India and Australia, two of the biggest cricketing giants are all set to lock horns in the much-awaited WTC final at Kennington Oval, London, starting June 7.

Both sides have been plagued with a fragile middle order. With the absence of Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, who are the highest run scorers at the venue, the Indian side will have to give it their all in order to win the summit clash. Besides Pant and Rahul, who are currently out of action, we bring you a list of those batters who have had a healthy performance at the Kennington Oval in London.

Here, in this article, we bring you a list of 3 Indian batsmen in the WTC final with the most Test runs at The Oval. Have a look:

1. Virat Kohli:

As the Indian cricket team is all set to lock its horns in the summit clash against Australia, all eyes will be firmly on Virat Kohli, who will be heading into the must-win match with a lot of confidence after his exploits in the Indian Premier League.

Kohli’s record on the ground could be a bit concerning for the Indian side. He has played three games at The Oval and in six innings, he has only scored 169 runs at an average of 28.17. He has scored only one fifty from six innings.

Team India will be hoping Kohli will improve on his record and guide them to the WTC title win win against Australia.

2. Rohit Sharma:

Rohit Sharma has played only one Test match at the Oval but he managed to score 138 runs in that game. Playing against England in 2021, Rohit scored 138 runs, including his match-winning hundred of 127, which came in the 3rd innings. His ton helped India win the Test and also cemented his place as a Test opener.

3. Ravindra Jadeja:

India’s star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has had some amazing outings at the Oval, where he has picked up 11 wickets and has also contributed 126 runs with the bat.

Jadeja
He played one of the grittiest knocks of his career – an unbeaten 86 against England in 2018. It was his comeback game and he along with Hanuma Vihari, bailed India out of the hole and reduced what could have been a 100+ run defeat to only 40 runs. He also picked up 4 wickets in that match but his efforts went in vain.
