Virat Kohli Praised Skipper Rohit Sharma Lavishly: The Indian cricket team led by Rohit Sharma is all set to lock horns with Australia in the World Test Championship (WTC) Final, which will be played at the Oval from today, June 7th to 11th. Not just the fans, even batting maestro Virat Kohli expects a similar display from the Indian captain against Australia.
Ahead of the WTC Final opening day, Kohli sat down for a chat with the ICC wherein he hailed Rohit Sharma, who has transformed his game in red-ball cricket. Rohit, who has been sensational in the white-ball format of the game, peaked in the Test format as well after he had a transition as an opener in the red-ball format.
While it was in 2019, when Rohit had a major turnaround in the red-ball format, but it was during India’s tour of England in 2021-22, Rohit had a major breakthrough as it was his first trip to England as an opener in Tests. He smashed a brilliant ton during the second innings to help India seal a historic series win.
During the 2021 tour, Rohit scored 368 runs in 4 Tests, including his 127-run knock. His knock was laced with 14 boundaries and a solitary six.
