Former Indian cricketer and World Cup hero Yuvraj Singh is still known for his cricketing spectacle, where he smashed six sixes in an over off Stuart Broad’s bowling during a World Cup 2007 game against England.
Yuvi was the second player to achieve this feat of six-sixes in an over, with former South Africa batsman Herschelle Gibbs being the first one to do so. However, Yuvraj was the first and the only player to achieve this feat in a World Cup tournament.
This achievement remains one of the most iconic moments in the history of T20I cricket and also in Yuvraj Singh’s career as well. After Yuvi no other player has managed to achieve this feat in a World Cup tournament.
But two other players have managed to hit six sixes in an over in T20Is. West Indies’ star batter Kieron Pollard achieved this feat in 2021 by smashing Sri Lanka’s Akila Dananjaya for six sixes in an over. Recently, Nepal’s Dipendra Singh Airee achieved this remarkable feat by smashing six sixes in an over against Qatar.
As the T20 World Cup 2024 is just around the corner, it remains to be seen if any player can replicate Yuvraj Singh’s historic feat.

Meanwhile, in a Question and Answer segment with the ICC, Yuvraj Singh was questioned about a player who can manage to replicate his historic feat of hitting six sixes in an over. Responding to this, Yuvi recommended the name of Hardik Pandya as he feels that the star all-rounder has the potential to achieve his milestone during the upcoming ICC tournament. He said:
“Hardik Pandya is likely to hit 6 sixes in one over in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.”

Yuvraj Singh was asked to predict the four semifinalists for the T20 World Cup 2024. In response, the legendary batsman chose India, Australia, defending champions England, and Pakistan as his picks. Interestingly, three out of these four teams selected by Yuvraj Singh had also qualified for the semifinals of the previous T20 World Cup.
