Former Indian cricketer and World Cup hero Yuvraj Singh shared a video via his official Instagram handle to mark the day he smashed six sixes off six balls during a match 16-years-ago.
Exactly 16 years ago on this day, Yuvraj Singh created history and rocked the cricketing world as he displayed his incredible batting skills during the game. He launched six consecutive sixes in the 19th over bowled by Stuart Broad during the first edition of T20 World Cup, which was held in Durban. But he didn’t stop there. Yuvraj also achieved the fastest half-century in T20 International cricket, reaching the milestone figure in just 12 balls.
During his stellar knock of 58 runs off 16 balls, Yuvraj Singh smashed three fours and seven sixes, six of which came in consecutive balls in a single over thrown by Stuart Broad.
The six-sixes came the 19th over in the first innings. In the previous over, Yuvi was batting at 14 runs off 6 balls, in which he had hit two boundaries, and that too against Andrew Flintoff in the 18th over.
Yuvi and Flintoff were involved in an on-field spat. Flintoff told Yuvraj, that he would cut his throat off and Singh in return threatened to hit him with his bat. A frustrated Yuvraj Singh then expressed all his anger on the young Stuart Broad, who was 21 at that time. Singh had hit him four times on the leg-side and twice on the off-side.
Yuvraj Singh Shared A Sand Art Made By His Fan

Meanwhile, celebrating the historic knock’s anniversary, Yuvraj shared a video on his Instagram featuring a sand art made by one of his fans. Sharing the video, Yuvi wrote:
“Thank you for this lovely sand art, Christy Valiyaveettil ❤️ even though you created this for my birthday, today is also an apt occasion for me to share it.”
