Yuvraj Singh Wrote A Special Tweet For Ajit Agarkar On Becoming Team India’s New Chief Selector

Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh penned a special message for his former teammate Ajit Agarkar for becoming Team India’s new chairman of the selection committee. The Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), consisting of Sulakshana Naik, Ashok Malhotra, and Jatin Paranjape, interviewed several applicants and unanimously recommended Ajit’s name.

A BCCI statement read, “The three-member CAC has unanimously recommended Ajit Agarkar for the said position.”

The former Indian all-rounder has represented India in 26 Tests, 191 ODIs, and four T20Is, in addition to playing 110 first-class, 270 List A, and 62 T20 matches. He was also a part of the Indian squad in the inaugural T20 World Cup squad in South Africa in 2007. Agarkar still holds the record for the fastest fifty by an Indian batter in ODI. He scored a 21-ball fifty against Zimbabwe in 2000.

He also held the record for being the fastest to reach 50 ODI wickets for nearly a decade, he reached the milestone in just 23 games.

Following his international career, he was appointed as the Chief Selector for the senior Mumbai Team and undertook coaching responsibilities with the Delhi Capitals.

Meanwhile, after the BCCI announced Ajit Agarkar as the new chairman of the selection committee, social media was flooded with reactions from fans, cricketers, and experts. Among many, former Indian cricketer and Ajit’s teammate Yuvraj Singh took to his social media and penned a special tweet for the new chairman.

In his Tweet, Yuvraj Singh expressed that he is confident that Agarkar will play an impactful role in shaping team India. He wrote:

“Congratulations @imAagarkar on your new responsibility as the Chairman of the selection committee! I’m confident that you will play an impactful role in shaping the future of Indian cricket 🇮🇳 good luck buddy!”
