Yuzvendra Chahal, the Indian leg-spinner was all praises for his team-mates, recently in an interview. Not just he applauded the senior players of the Indian team for always supporting young cricketers but he also talked about how things would have been different if David Warner and Steve Smith, who are currently on their ban, were playing for Australian cricket team.
Appreciating all the support he has got from the Indian cricketers, Yuzvendra Chahal mentioned the names of three cricketers who have always held his back and supported him since his beginning.
Yuzvendra Chahal said MS Dhoni, current captain Virat Kohli and vice-captain Rohit Sharma have always backed youngsters. He revealed that these three players have never let any player panic in difficult situations in the game. Further more he said :
“While each one has their own style, the one common factor is that they don’t let the youngsters panic. They give us the freedom to set our field and are very approachable,”
Chahal also shared his experience of playing with Ravindra Jadeja, the Indian all-rounder, who gave a great performance last month as Hardik Pandya, who got injured was replaced by him. Talking about Jadeja he said :
“He has played close to 150 ODIs and his experience can’t be doubted. The Asia Cup was the first time I played with him and I would often go to him to clarify any doubts. He always has a positive vibe and his comeback has given a balance to the team,”
Yuzvendra Chahal also talked about how things would have been different if David Warner and Steve Smith were playing for their team Australia. He believes that India will be the favorites on their tour to Australia. He said:
“If Steve Smith and David Warner were playing then it would have been different. They are legends. Australia has not won an ODI series in more than a year. In Tests also they lost to Pakistan and South Africa recently. India will be favorites against them,”
Talking about the Indian cricket team, today the men in blue will lock horns against West Indies in the second ODI match.
