Former India captain Virat Kohli got married to Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma in 2017. The couple has a year-and-half old daughter, Vamika. Kohli and Anushka had been dating for about three-four years before they tied the knot.
Ever since the rumors of both the superstar personalities dating each other broke out, Anushka has often been unnecessarily dragged into conversations by fans, and even some former cricketers, regarding Kohli and cricket.
Here are 4 instances when Anushka Sharma was part of a controversy, none sparked by her:

Anuskha-Gavaskar controversy
The latest one was when legendary Indian batsman and now commentator Sunil Gavaskar said, “Inhone [Kohli] lockdown me to bas Anushka ki Bowling ki practice ki hain,” while commentating during an IPL 2020 game of RCB when Kohli didn’t score much.
There was a quick furore among fans for Gavaskar’s comment. Soon after, Anushka took to her Instagram to post a stern message, demanding an explanation from Gavaskar.

For being part of a group photo of the Indian team
On the 2018 tour of England, just a year after Kohli and Anushka had gotten married, the Bollywood actress was present in a photo of Team India’s visit to the High Commission of India in London.
She received plenty of scathing remarks on social media for being part of the photo. Later on, she clarified – had to – that she did not want to be photographed, but the High Commissioner’s wife insisted she be part of the photograph despite her reservations.

Anuskha trolled after Kohli’s poor performance in 2015 WC semi-final
Virat Kohli’s girlfriend then, Anushka had gone to Australia to watch India’s semi-final match against the hosts in the 2015 World Cup. Kohli got out for just 1 run off 13 balls and the cameras were quick to pan to the shocked and dejected face of Anushka. She was trolled mercilessly after Kohli’s failure with the bat. Over the years, some have ridicoulsoly even said that she had brought bad luck to Kohli’s game.

Farokh Engineer saying Anushka was being served tea by selectors
Former India cricketer Farokh Engineer had made a controversial statement that he had seen an Indian selector serving tea to Anushka during the 2019 World Cup in England. She was then aggressively trolled and criticised on social media.
With hatred spewing on her on social media, Anuskha was quick to slam back the former cricketer’s claim, and also confirmed that she drinks coffee and not tea.
