"India Or Australia - Who Will Win?" David Warner Gives A Funny Reply

Australia opener David Warner gave a hilarious reply when a fan asked him to pick his side between India and Australia ahead of the World Cup 2023 final.

World Cup winner in 2015, David Warner will be playing his second ODI World Cup final on Sunday. Australia beat South Africa in a thrilling semi-final on Thursday in Kolkata to set a date with the hosts, India, for Sunday’s grand finale at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Australia defeated the Proteas by only 3 wickets on a tough batting pitch.

David Warner and Travis Head gave Australia a cracking start in their chase of 213. Warner scored 29 runs in 18 balls and Head smashed 62 runs in 48 balls. Even as Australia lost wickets, the openers had given them enough to work with and win the game.

“Hopefully you will support India”: David Warner gives a ‘funny’ reply

After the semi-final win, Warner posted a picture of himself and wrote a beautiful caption that he is excited to play the final in front of 130,000 spectators, most of which will be Indian fans.

David Warner captioned his post: “Things you dream of as a kid!! Heading into another World Cup final. It’s going to be absolutely packed. Can not wait to get out there! Who’s side are you on?? #cricket #india #awesome”

Knowing Warner’s love for India and Indian fans who have showered praises and support for him over the years, one fan commented with a joke and asked Warner whose side he would be on in the final, India or Australia.

A fan, with account handle @srinimaama16, commented: “Bro, leave asking that question to us aside. You answer. Whose side are you on? India or Australia? Hopefully you will support India”

Warner noticed this comment and made a hilarious reply: “@srinimaama16 haha that’s funny”

Warner is having another prolific tournament. The southpaw has scored 528 runs in 10 innings at an average of 52 and strike rate of 107 with 2 centuries and 2 fifties to his name.

India would have to get both Warner and Head out as early as possible to derail Australia’s innings as both batters bat at brisk strike rates. Travis Head, in his 5 innings in the tournament, has scored at a strike rate of 139. In ODIs, Warner averages 50 against India and has slammed 3 centuries.
