Former Pakistan leg-spinner Danish Kaneria has uploaded a tweet, celebrating the Prana Pratishtha (consecration ceremony) of Lord Rama in Ayodhya on Monday, January 22.

India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the rituals at the ceremony on Monday in Ayodhya, which marked perhaps the most historic day for the Hindu community. More than 7000 sadhus and saints, along with prominent personalities from various fields, attended the event on this auspicious day.

From the cricket fraternity, Sachin Tendulkar, Anil Kumble, Ravindra Jadeja, Mithali Raj, and Venkatesh Prasad were seen. It is not yet known whether Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni attended the event.

South African spinner Keshav Maharaj, who is a Hindu by religion, also extended his wishes to the Hindu community.

“Namaste everyone. I just want to wish my Indian community in South Africa for the inauguration of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya tomorrow. May there be peace, harmony and spiritual enlightenment to all. Jai Shri Ram.” Keshav Maharaj said in the video.

Maharaj has hogged plenty of headlines in India over the past few months because whenever he comes in to bat. the DJ plays the song ‘Ram Siya Ram’.

Maharaj recently revealed that he had personally requested the DJ to play the ‘Ram Siya Ram’ song on his entry.

“Obviously, something that I put forward to the media lady and requested that song to be played. For me, God has been my greatest blessing, giving me guidance and opportunity. So, it’s the least that I can do and it also just gets you in your zone. It’s a nice feeling walking out (into the ground) to hear ‘Ram Siya Ram’ playing in the background,” the Protea spinner said.
