January 22, 2024, marked a historic day in India and in the Hindu community as PM Narendra Modi led the rituals at the consecration ceremony in Ayodhya. David Warner, who recently retired from Test cricket, will next feature in the ILT20 tournament in the UAE, where he is the captain of the Dubai Capitals. In between he played in a couple of games for his BBL side, Sydney Thunder.
After the ILT20 tournament, Warner’s next two major assignments will be the IPL 2024 and the T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies and the USA. Warner is apparently targeting the event in June as his T20I farewell.
Australia are scheduled to play 3 T20Is against the West Indies and 3 against New Zealand, for which David Warner is likely to be picked, which would then force him to leave his ILT20 commitment.
George Bailey, Australia men’s chief selector, said, “I think that’s the same with all our Australian contracted players. If they’re going to be selected in a squad then they’re available. If they’re not then it depends on what sort of domestic cricket responsibilities they have.”
