A section of fans have slammed the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for not posting about the Pran Pratishtha (consecration ceremony) of Lord Ram on social media.
January 22, Monday, was a massively celebrated day among the Hindu community not just in India, but around the world as Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the rituals for the consecration ceremony of the Hindu god Shree Ram in Ayodhya.
A number of prominent cricketers, including Sachin Tendulkar, Ravindra Jadeja, Anil Kumble, Mithali Raj, and Venkatesh Prasad, attended the event. Social media was abuzz with people showering love and adoration for Lord Ram and congratulating the Hindu community for this historic day.
A few IPL franchises, too, took part in congratulating their fans on the Pran Pratishtha of Shree Ram. The Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Lucknow Super Giants, and Rajasthan Royals made social media posts on this auspicious occasion, while the other franchises – Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Titans, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Punjab Kings – refrained from making any social media post for this event.
While six IPL franchises didn’t make a post on the Pran Pratishtha of Shree Ram, it was CSK who got the majority of the bashing, some including from their own fans. A Twitter user expressed his anger at CSK, pointing out that the franchise had posted on Christmas and Eid, but didn’t on this grand celebration of the Hindus.
Fans also pondered over CSK captain MS Dhoni not attending the event despite being invited.

Meanwhile, MS Dhoni has started practicing in the nets for the IPL 2024. The tournament is tentatively scheduled to begin on March 22 and end by May 25.
