The optimism of Kevin Pietersen about England potentially posting a huge total on the board in the first innings of the Hyderabad Test was burst rather much more quickly than the former England skipper would have hoped for.
England openers Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett brought the Bazball to the Indian pacers and took 41 runs in the first 8 overs, and 53 runs in 11 overs. However, that was just that, for all of England’s hopes and excitement that rapid start from the openers gave to their fans as once the Indian spin trio got into their act, the Bazballers crumbled.
England went from 55/0 to 155/7 and only some heroics from captain Ben Stokes, who cracked 70 runs, helped them reach the total of 246, which is unlikely to prove enough for them to challenge India given the rocking start Yashasvi Jaiswal has given to the hosts.
Wasim Jaffer hilariously trolls Kevin Pietersen for his tweets on England’s innings

Only 30 minutes into the game, as Crawley and Duckett collected a flurry of boundaries off India pacers Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah in the first 8 overs, Kevin Pietersen came up with an insanely inflated optimistic tweet, reckoning that England could reach 450 on Day 1 itself.
However, two hours later, by Lunch, with England three down and the ball turning a bit, Kevin Pietersen’s mind changed entirely and he tweeted, wondering if the game would end within two days!
Former India batsman Wasim Jaffer, who is now also famous for his meme game on social media, came up with a hilarious tweet to troll Kevin Pietersen. Jaffer used the famous template of “Ghar se nikalte hi; Kuch dur chalte hee” to troll Pietersen, and tagged Dinesh Karthik, who is also commentating on the game, to explain it to Pietersen.

In reply to England’s 246, Jaiswal got off to a blazing start, targetting the England spinners. Jaiswal hammered 9 fours and 3 sixes in his unbeaten knock of 76 runs in 70 balls. At stumps on Day 1, India’s score is 119/1 with Rohit Sharma’s dismissal the only blemish on an almost perfect day.
