Krunal Pandya made a big impact of Lucknow Super Giants’ innings against Punjab Kings in match number 11 of the IPL 2024. Coming in at number 7, the left-hander cracked 4 fours and 2 sixes in his belligerent innings of 43 runs in 22 balls.

The eventually propelled Lucknow’s score from 146/5 at the start of the 16th over to the 199 they ended up with, which seemed above par considering the pitch in Lucknow and the home team’s strong bowling attack.

One of his sixes was a sumptuous straight drive lofted shot sixer to Harshal Patel. Known to contain the batters with his slower ball variations, Harshal couldn’t keep a lid on Krunal Pandya as the left-hander got into a superb position to time the ball beautifully back over Harshal’s head and send it over the fence down the ground.

To a ball just outside the off-stump and full on length, Krunal Pandya laced into the shot and timed it well, just enough for the ball to cross the boundary line. The senior Pandya held his pose for the photographers.

His second sixer was against the high pace of Kagiso Rabada. Krunal picked the length of a short length delivery quickly and nailed his pull shot, and hit it over deep square for a maximum.

LSG’s interim captain Nicholas Pooran won the toss and elected to bat first. LSG posted 199 on the board courtesy of a half-century from Quinton de Kock and 40s from Pooran and Krunal Pandya.
