VIDEO - Shubman Gill's Reply To Ed Sheeran's "Do You Have A Girlfriend?" Question Has Gone Viral

Shubman Gill played for the Kolkata Knight Riders from 2018 to 2021 but was not kept in the team for the big auction. Later, he joined the Gujarat Titans and won the IPL title in his first season before becoming the captain in 2024.

Although there have been no issues between Gill and KKR before, a humorous moment arose during an interaction between Gill and the famous singer Ed Sheeran. When Sheeran learned that Gill played for a cricket team owned by Shah Rukh Khan, it sparked amusement on social media.

Shubman Gill’s Reply To Ed Sheeran’s “Do You Have A Girlfriend?” Question Has Gone Viral

When Sheeran mentioned he had dinner plans with SRK, Gill promptly quipped, “Ask him why did they not retain me?” This lighthearted exchange quickly went viral on social media.

Here, read the whole conversation that took place between Shubman Gill, Tanmay Bhatt and Ed Sheeran:

Ed Sheeran: “I am going to Shah Rukh’s house tonight.”

Shubman Gill: “I used to play for his team.”

Ed Sheeran: “Did you? He has a team!”

Tanmay Bhatt: “Yes, Kolkata Knight Riders.”

Shubman Gill: “Ask him why did they not retain me.”

In a viral clip, Ed Sheeran asked Shubman Gill, “Do you have a girlfriend?” Gill replied with a straight face, “No.” Sheeran then looked at the camera and exclaimed, “On the market, guys!”

In an Indian Premier League match, Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill’s flawless half-century went unnoticed as Punjab Kings clinched a thrilling three-wicket win. Gill’s impressive knock of 89 runs off 48 balls, including six fours and four sixes, propelled GT to a formidable total of 199 for four.

In a thrilling match, Gujarat Titans’ Shubman Gill’s impressive 89 runs went in vain as Punjab Kings’ Shashank Singh’s unbeaten 61 off 29 balls led his team to victory. Singh was supported by Ashutosh Sharma’s quick 31 off 17 balls. Despite losing early wickets, Punjab Kings chased down the target with a ball to spare, with Shashank’s aggressive batting turning the game in their favor.
