India’s star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant achieved a huge milestone and joined legendary player MS Dhoni in an elite list during the 2nd T20I series against England. Rishabh Pant is currently playing with Team India in the ongoing 3rd T20I match against England, which is also the 50th T20I match of his career. Pant has become only the 2nd full-time wicketkeeper-batsman after Dhoni to achieve this feat.

Rishabh Pant Achieved A Huge Milestone

Yes, you read that right. Well, though Rishabh has become the 14th Indian batter to play 50 T20I matches, he is only the 2nd Indian keeper to do the same.

It was in the year 2016 during the T20 World Cup when Pant made his debut for team India. He played his first T20I against England in February 2017. However, he was dropped from the team on a few occasions over the years, but he has now cemented his place on the Indian side, in all three formats of the game.

While Dhoni had played 98 T20Is, on the other hand, Pant is currently playing his 50th game. Also going by his age, he can go on to leapfrog the record of MS Dhoni.

Talking about the list, the Indian captain Rohit Sharma is leading the list with the most T20I caps. Rohit is currently playing his 128th match. He is followed by former skipper Virat Kohli, who is playing his 99th game.

Dhoni – 98
Suresh Raina – 78
Shikhar Dhawan – 68
Bhuvneshwar Kumar – 68
Hardik Pandya – 63
Yuzvendra Chahal – 62
Ravindra Jadeja – 60
Jasprit Bumrah – 58, KL Rahul – 56
R Ashwin – 51

Meanwhile, MS Dhoni, who is currently in England for a holiday with his family, was spotted at Trent Bridge to watch team India play England in the 3rd and the final T20I of the series. He had earlier visited the Indian dressing room and interacted with the players. The pictures of the same was posted by the official account of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Ahead of that game, Dhoni also clicked pictures with a few fans near the stadium. In one of the pictures going viral, Dhoni was spotted wearing a giant Rishabh Pant mask. The image of the same was shared by the official Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fan group ‘WhistlePodu Army‘.
