IND vs SA: The Indian cricket team started the much-awaited 5-match T20I series against South Africa on the worst possible note as they suffered a 7-wicket defeat in the first 1st T20I match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.
Rassie van der Dussen Was The Top-Scorer For Proteas In 1st T20I
David Miller (64* off 31) and Rassie van der Dussen (75* off 46) stole the show with the bat as they wreaked havoc with the bat and chased down the challenging score on the board. Rassie van der Dussen was the top-scorer from the Proteas side as his knock of 75* runs in South Africa’s win over team India. During his knock, he was dropped at 29 runs by Shreyas Iyer and that turned out to be a deciding factor in the game.
Initially, der Dussen struggled to get going as he could only manage to score only 29 runs in his first 30 deliveries, however, after he was dropped by Iyer, he switched gears and started smashing the Proteas batters all around the ground.

Later, after the game, Rassie van der Dussen admitted that he knew he had to make team India pay for the dropped catch. He feels that if Iyer had caught that ball, it would have been a different game. He said:
“I took a good few balls to get in and it was a wicket that got a lot easier once you were in. It was tough to get yourself set. I knew I was in and I had to make them pay,”

Rishabh Pant on India’s defeat
After the game, during the post-match presentation, Rishabh Pant also expressed his thoughts on India’s defeat in the first T20I. He said:
“We had enough on the board, but I think we were a little off with the execution. But sometimes you got to give credit to the opposition. Miller and RvD batted well. Slower balls were working when we batted, but the wicket got better in the second innings. Mostly we executed our plans (to Miller) but the wicket got better and better. We were very happy with the total but next time we are in a similar situation we will do better.”
