Yuvraj Singh Motivated Youngsters After ‘NZ vs Afg’ Game: The New Zealand cricket team has finally qualified for the semi-final of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2021. On Sunday, the New Zealand cricket team defeated Afghanistan by 8 wickets at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, eventually knocking out Afghanistan and India from the mega-tournament. India’s chances of making it to the semi-finals of the World Cup depended heavily on Afghanistan and New Zealand match which didn’t end in their favor.

The Kiwis gave a complete performance and took control over the game from the first ball itself. As they walked out to field first, they didn’t let the Afghanistan batters score big with the bat and managed to get restrict them at 124 runs only.

Later, the Kiwis got off to a steady start in their run-chase as they made45 runs in their powerplay. Chasing the target of 124 runs wasn’t as easy as it looked like. However, the batsmen kept looking for singles and ignored the bad balls, which didn’t allow the required rate to go up. They tackled the lethal spinners brilliantly. Kane Williamson and Devon Conway joined hands and didn’t allow the Afghans to take their side home.

Impressed with the batting performance of the Kiwis, Yuvraj Singh took to his Twitter and hailed the New Zealand cricket team for playing the spin of Mujeeb and Rashid Khan smartly. He also exclaimed that the T20 cricket is not just about the big hits and feels that youngsters should learn something from this approach of the Kiwi batters, especially the way they perform during pressure matches. He wrote:

“Nz batters playing the spin of Mujeeb and @rashidkhan_19 very smartly ! Looking for singles and putting the bad balls away ! In a pressure game to qualify its a good game plan . Something youngsters should watch and learn that T20 it’s not just only about big hits . #AfgvsNZ”
