The tenure of the current Indian head coach Ravi Shastri will come to an end following the ongoing T20 World Cup 2021. Along with Shastri, even the stints of bowling coach Bharat Arun and fielding coach R Sridhar will also come to an end.
While former Indian cricketer and legendary batsman Rahul Dravid is already set to take over as the next head coach of the Indian cricket team, the BCCI is searching for their replacements.
Meanwhile, there are reports floating around on the internet as per which the Ahmedabad franchise owners CVC Capital have approached Ravi Shastri and Co. to be a part of their backend staff. But, Ravi Shastri has asked for some more time to decide on the matter, as he currently wants to focus on the ongoing T20 World Cup 2021. It has also been reported that the franchise is very keen to add Bharat Arun and R Sridhar to their coaching staff.
As per reports, the 1983-World Cup winner has reportedly said that for now he wants to focus entirely on the showpiece event has sought some time to take a call after the completion of the high-voltage tournament. The report also suggested that Shastri is ready to compromise his career as a commentator or broadcaster to coach an IPL team.
For the unversed, Shastri has been one of the most loved commentators from India. He has been a stalwart in broadcasting for more than two decades. In fact, he gave a voice to the emotions of millions of Indians, when MS Dhoni smashed the winning six to hand India a World Cup in 2011.
