There was a time when Kuldeep Yadav was a match-winner however after the IPL 2021, which was recently suspended because of the COVID-19 pandemic situation, he has become a matter of concern for the selectors. Kuldeep couldn’t play any game in this season, played only one Test match, which was his first one in the longest format of the game in the last two years.
Amidst this tough phase, Kuldeep Yadav is missing legendary cricketer and his mentor MS Dhoni. MS Dhoni has played an instrumental role in the success of Kuldeep’s career as he used to give Kuldeep instructions from behind the wicket.
Recently, in an interview with the Indian Express, Kuldeep Yadav revealed that he missed MS Dhoni’s presence on-field. Now with him gone, Yadav desperately needs someone to pull him out of the tough phase that he is in. He said:
“Sometimes I miss that guidance because he (Mahi) has great experience. He used to guide us behind the wicket, kept screaming! We miss his experience. Rishabh is there now, the more he plays, the more input he will give in the future. I always felt every bowler needs a partner who can respond from the other end,”
Kuldeep added.
“When Mahi bhai was there, I and Chahal were playing. Ever since Mahi bhai left, Chahal and I haven’t played together. I played only a handful of games after Mahi bhai left,” he further said. “I must have played ten-odd games. I had even taken a hat-trick. If you look at the performance as a whole, it will look pretty decent but if one breaks it up then my performance sometimes can look not up to the mark,”
