From one IPL champion to another, Chennai Super Kings stalwart Suresh Raina took to Twitter to congratulate Hardik Pandya and the Gujarat Titans franchise for winning the IPL 2022, on Sunday night at the jam-packed Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, by defeating the Rajasthan Royals by 7 wickets.
Gujarat Titans – New IPL Champions

Skipper Hardik Pandya led the Titans from the front with both bat and ball. First, with the ball, Pandya took three important wickets – those of Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson and Shimron Hetmyer – with Sai Kishore picking two late wickets, after one each had been snapped up by Rashid Khan, Yash Dayal and Mohammed Shami, restricting RR to a below-par 130.
GT suffered a hiccup in the chase, losing Saha and Wade for the score of 23. Pandya joined hands with Gill and without taking any unnecessary or miscalculated risk the pair forged a partnership of 63 runs off 53 balls before Pandya(34 off 30) succumbed to Chahal’s spin.
David Miller then came out all guns blazing and killed off the chase quickly with his 19-ball 32. On the first ball of the 19th over, Gill then launched Obed McCoy over deep square leg, had his arms up in the air, and screamed his lungs out as the Titans became the champions of IPL 2022.
