Rajasthan Royals‘ star spinner Yuzvendra Chahal stole the show on Monday during the IPL 2022 match against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Brabourne Stadium. All thanks to his fiery bowling spells Chahal proved why leg-spinners are considered match-winners in the Indian Premier League.
The match was balanced with four overs remaining as the Shreyas Iyer-led side needed 40 runs to win and this is when Yuzvendra Chahal walked in and snatched the game away from KKR. Shreyas Iyer was playing the captain’s knock and was looking all set to take his team to the victory lines.
After Chahal’s first three overs were plundered for 38 runs, he made a comeback and delivered a dream over. He only gave away 2 runs and picked 4 wickets, which also included a hat-trick. It was the 17th over of the second innings when Chahal was back for his fourth over.

To get rid of Venkatesh Iyer, Chahal delivered a stunning googly, that made the batter dance down the track, however, Iyer eventually missed the ball. The wicket-keeper completed the dismissal and Iyer had to walk back to the pavilion.

Yuzvendra Chahal struck again and this time he got the big fish – KKR captain Shreyas Iyer. Iyer was dismissed by LBW and the Hawk-Eye’s prediction showed that the ball was pitching in line and was hitting leg.
16.5 Chahal to Shivam Mavi, OUT
Chahal took a long-on before he delivered a full ball outside off, which got Shivam Mavi out. Mavi could only manage to top-edge it and the ball ended up in the hands of Riyan Parag
16.6 Chahal to Cummins, OUT:
Chahal hit the last nail in the coffin by dismissing another big fish – Pat Cummins, who was caught behind.
