Shivam Dube stunned one and all with his blistering display of batting against RCB in the ongoing IPL 2022. It was a knock to remember as Dube smashed RCB’s attack all around the park in the most ruthless manner and formed an unforgettable partnership with Robin Uthappa.
Shivam Dube came in to bat when CSK were in a spot of bother after losing two early wickets, and turned things around with his counter-attacking batting. Dube smashed 95* runs off just 46 balls and helped CSK register their first win of IPL 2022.
After his innings, Dube spoke to commentators and said that he tried to maintain his balance while playing big shots, and it helped. He also spoke about how MS Dhoni told him to stay still and keep playing big strokes in the last couple of overs.
“I spoke to many seniors – Mahi bhai also helped me to improve the game. He said, ‘Just be focused, just be still, just let the skill work in the game.’ I wanted to time the ball really well. I tried to maintain my balance,” said Shivam Dube during the post-match presentation.

Staying still and having a steady head are the two most important factors batsmen have to consider while playing big strokes. If a batsman loses his shape and his head falls rightwards or leftwards, then the ball ends up looping in the air and it doesn’t travel the distance.
Shivam Dube also said that playing for CSK and contributing towards the team’s cause is an honour for him.
“Many people told me that I bat like him. As the situation demands, as the captain and coach tell me. We were looking for the first win and I am really happy that I contributed for the team. It’s an honour for me. I am more focused this time and focusing on basics,” Shivam Dube added.
