Mumbai Indians’ horror run in the ongoing 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League continued as they were defeated by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the game last night at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium.
Mumbai Indians remained winless in the ongoing season, as they failed to break their winning drought in the ongoing season. Currently, MI is sitting at the 9th position in the points table, having lost all the four games in the ongoing season so far.
During the game, RCB needed 152 to secure their 3rd victory and the team managed to chase down the score in the 19th over. Anuj Rawat scored his first fifty of the league and helped his team to chase down the target easily.
Former captain Virat Kohli also got back to his old form and although he got out following a controversial decision but it didn’t matter in the end as the franchise chased it with 7 wickets to spare.
Earlier, MI got off to a decent start in the powerplay, however, they soon suffered a big blow as they lost their captain Rohit Sharma off a stunning delivery by Harshal Patel before Mumbai Indians suffered a horrible top-order collapse, all thanks to some fiery bowling by RCB.
Suryakumar Yadav and Jaydev Unadkat stitched a 72-run partnership and took the total of the game to 151 runs. SKY fought like a lone-warrior for the team and scored a stunning fifty, however, it wasn’t enough for the team.
