MS Dhoni, who is hailed as one of the greatest cricketing minds ever, loves playing football. The game of football has always been his first love as shown in his biopic, wherein it was revealed how Dhoni wanted to become a football goalie but then his fate had other plans for him.
Apart from playing football during practice sessions or before the start of the game, Dhoni is often seen playing football with his friends from Bollywood in charity games.
On Saturday, as CSK locked its horns against SRH, Dhoni was seen playing football ahead of the game, and watching him warm up like this, former Indian coach Ravi Shastri couldn’t help but reveal how he yelled at Dhoni to stop the game during Asia Cup.
Well, Shastri was so furious and worried that Dhoni will hurt himself, that he yelled at him and asked him to stop playing the game. He revealed:
“He loves football. It scares, the intensity he plays, you from the outside, you hope he doesn’t get injured. I remember before the Asia Cup final, there was dew, he went skidding five minutes before the toss,”
“I’ve never yelled like that in my life, I said stop the game! Something like that. You don’t want to lose your main player in a game against Pakistan, because five minutes later was the toss. But, to get him out, leave the football, impossible,”
Meanwhile, talking about the game, MS Dhoni managed to score just three runs against SRH as his side Chennai Super Kings was defeated by SunRisers Hyderabad. This was CSK’s fourth consecutive defeat in the ongoing season and currently, they are sitting at 9th position in the points table, with 0 wins.
