Usually athletic and sharp in the field, Virat Kohli left everyone surprised as he dropped not just one but two catches of KXIP skipper KL Rahul when he was in his 80s. The misfields eventually resulted in KL Rahul went on a rampage at the death as he finished with a whopping score of 132*.
His miseries were worsened after he failed to put his batting abilities on display. Virat Kohli failed to perform with the bat and was dismissed on 1 by Sheldon Cottrell.
Soon after Virat Kohli walked back to the pavilion, social media went into a frenzy and fans started trolling Virat Kohli and his squad for their performances.
Among many, former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif also took to his twitter and took a subtle dig at Virat Kohli and his squad. In his tweet, he praised KL Rahul’s brilliant performance and also pointed out the two dropped catches by writing ‘catches win matches’. He also took a dig at his bowlers by writing that ‘bowlers win you IPLs’. He wrote:
“Rahul naam to suna hoga 132*
RCB 109
Luck is temporary. Class is permanent. Catches win matches but bowlers win you IPLs.

Later, during the post-match presentation, Virat Kohli took the blame of dropped catches. He said:
“I think we were pretty good in the middle phase with the ball. I have to stand in front and take the brunt of it,”
Talking about the dropped catches, he said: “Cost about 30-40 runs,” He added: “If we’d restricted them at 180 we wouldn’t have felt pressure to go from ball one. There are days when you have these kind of things happen. Just have to accept them,”
He added:
“We’ve had a good game, we’ve had a bad game. Time to move on. We need to learn to plug those little mistakes,”
