The ongoing Under 19 World Cup has got quite a few players who got a bitter past and are now turning the tables of their lives with their impeccable performances. First, it was Yashasvi Jaiswal and his journey that came into limelight after he gave some stunning performances. His journey from being a paani-poori seller to now being one of the top performers of the ongoing world cup u-19.
Besides Yashasvi Jaiswal, another Indian cricketer who has been making rounds for his journey and bitter past is  Atharva Ankolekar, the Indian cricketer who lost his father when he was just 9-years-old. However, Atharva’s mother Vaidehi worked hard as a bus conductor in order to fulfill the dreams of her child.

Though the youngster always wanted his mother to quit the job, as it was a pretty tough job and it was hard to manage both work and home, however, his mother wanted to fulfill his dreams and therefore she worked hard for it.
Atharva Ankolekar expected an IPL contract when he was named in the list of 971 players who got registered for IPL 2020 Auction. Unfortunately, he failed to attract the bidder and this didn’t go down well with him. But this didn’t stop him from giving his best in the ongoing World Cup.

Mother of Atharva Ankolekar also believes his son got a great future and winning the World Cup tournament is more important than the Indian Premier League as World Cup is a once in a lifetime opportunity while IPL comes every year. Talking about the ongoing WC tournament, she said:
“It can be a turning point in his life. If India wins this match, he will get a lot of future-scope, and confidence from winning a big final. He was a little sad that IPL did not happen this year. But IPL comes every year. A U19 World Cup, he will get only once in a lifetime,”
Talking about how Atharva Ankolekar always wanted her to quit the job, she said:
“He wants me to quit working because my job is strenuous,”

She added:
“But I can’t take a hasty step. His income is based on tournaments he plays, it’s not fixed. Besides, I don’t want to depend completely on him. I also have a 14-year-old, who also plays cricket. I will continue with my job, at least till he becomes a stable cricketer.”
Atharva Ankolekar will be seen in the action when the Indian cricket team will be locking their horns with Bangladesh in the final of the tournament.
