The rivalry between India and Pakistan, on the cricket down has always attracted fans from both sides. Though, both the countries haven’t played a bilateral series since January 2013, the competition between the two nations has never ended. Shoaib Malik’s recent statement proves the fact that the rivalry between the two countries will never end.

India and Pakistan, both the countries have faced each other in ICC events but they last played together in December-January in 2012/13 when Pakistan cricket team toured India to play two T20s and three ODIs against India.

As the world celebrated the birth of Jesus yesterday, social media was flooded with posts and tweets on Christmas. Former Pakistani cricketer, Shoaib Malik also took to his Twitter and wished his followers a ‘Merry Christmas’.

However, Shoaib Malik also attempted to taunt India by posting a picture of himself celebrating Pakistan’s victory against India on 25th December in 2012.

Well, on 25th December 2012, the Indian cricket team fell prey to Pakistan’s bowling attack, setting a target of just 134 runs. Pakistan’s batsmen were successful in chasing down the target. With only two balls remaining, Shoaib Malik led his team to victory with a knock of 57 runs.

Sharing the picture of himself, he wrote:

“Merry Christmas dosto ??

and a very happy 25th December ?”

However, his attempt to troll India failed miserably as the Indian fans reminded him of who the better side was. Netizens came up with pictures and tweets that do not appease any Pakistani cricketer or fan. The Indian cricket fans trolled Shoaib Malik left, right and center for his Tweet.

Here, check out the reactions of Twitterati on this:
