On Wednesday, BCCI’s new President Sourav Ganguly termed her daughter’s Instagram post as “not true” and urged fans to keep his daughter away from all the issues as she is too young to understand politics.
Well, Sourav Ganguly’s daughter, Sana Ganguly had shared an excerpt from Khushwant Singh’s book ‘The End of India’ on her Instagram story. Many leading media termed the post as a remark against the CAA Bill. The screenshot of the same was widely circulated on social media with people lauding the young girl for showing courage and taking a stand.
Check out her Instagram post:
CAA – Citizenship Amendment Act, the passage of this bill in both the houses of the parliament has led to violent protests in many parts of the country. While everyone has their own take on this, many prominent people including the Indian cricketers and Bollywood cricketers are keeping silence on this.
Thus, Sana’s post came out as a fearless stand from her side. However, in his tweet, Sourav Ganguly made it clear that the post is “not true” and has requested the fans to keep her out of all these issues. He wrote:
“Please keep Sana out of all this issues .. this post is not true .. she is too young a girl to know about anything in politics”

Sad state to see you apologising for something you should be proud of. At least tag @JayShah so your apology reaches the right person.

Don’t know whether she is too young or not but she would have definately chosen to bat first in the 2003 worldcup finals.

Sir, you should be proud of her for saying the right thing. “Young girls” have as much a right to be political as old people.

Finally a star kid who is raised to be a fearless and responsible citizen, who realises that it’s important to voice opinions, who knows that social media is not only about telling people how pretty I look in my new designer dress, more power to u.#IndiansAgainstCAA #sanaganguly pic.twitter.com/0pPug836Ls

#SanaGanguly Sana is 18, old enough to vote, old enough to marry without her father’s permission.
Sourav, in trying to dismiss her thoughts, u are dismissing your own credibility. U might have been Prince of Kolkata, but u are intellectually a pauper, a stooge of Shah.

Dada @SGanguly99 Am big fan of u just bcoz of your leadership qualities&All the cricketers you picked up have become star cricketers. Its enough that you are a born leader.
In this case, how can you expect our #SanaGanguly will not inherently possess your dynamism?
Let her speak.. https://t.co/Lv740LolSO— M.Satish Kumar (@satishkumarm2) December 18, 2019
