‘If you are listening…’: Sunil Gavaskar Shared An Emotional Message For Rishabh Pant

Fans of Indian cricket are badly missing the presence of the star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant in the ongoing four-match Test series between India and Australia. Pant is out of action as he is recovering from multiple injuries that he suffered in an unfortunate road accident on the Delhi-Dehradun highway that took place in the early morning of December 30, 2022.

Rishabh’s car collided with a divider and caught fire but with the blessings of God, Pant somehow managed to escape and survive the horrific accident. However, he suffered multiple injuries, including a ligament tear, because of which he will now be out of action for at least quite some time.

Rishabh Pant is already ruled out of the upcoming 2023 season of the Indian Premier League and there’s no official confirmation of his participation in the ODI World Cup, which is scheduled to take place later this year.

In the ongoing Border-Gavaskar series, India is also feeling the absence of Rishabh Pant as he has been one of the most destructive batters in the longest format for India. Over the past few years, he has helped the Indian cricket team come out of danger and put pressure on the opposition with his attacking approach.

Meanwhile, not just the fans but India’s batting legend Sunil Gavaskar is also missing Pant. Not just his batting, Gavaskar said that he is also missing Pant’s voice behind the stumps.

In an emotional message, Gavaskar, who was commentating during the second Test, wished him to get well soon. He said:

Australia are lucky that Rishabh Pant is not there. He would have had a fair bit to say, not necessarily to the batters but certainly to his teammates. Rishabh if you are listening, we are missing you, get well soon.”

Meanwhile, a few days ago Rishabh posted an update on his social media accounts, with photos of him walking with crutches. The post indicated that he is still some time away from resuming training.
