Prithvi Shaw Shared A Cryptic Post Amid The ‘Selfie’ Controversy

Team India’s star opener Prithvi Shaw has been making headlines over the past few weeks, however, for all the controversial reasons. After getting ignored for a long time, Shaw was eventually added to India’s squad for the T20I series against New Zealand, but he didn’t get a game in the series.

Just when it looked that Shaw’s career might get back on track, he was involved in an ugly controversy, that left everyone in shock.

During an argument with a social media influencer named Sapna Gill, Shaw was allegedly beaten for declining a selfie. Sapna Gill also requested the registration of an FIR against Shaw and others in a Mumbai police station for allegedly insulting her modesty.

Amid the controversy, Shaw has now taken to his social media and shared a cryptic Instagram story, where he could be seen taking a dig at people using him for ‘benefits’. Shaw wrote:

Some people will only ‘love you’ as much as they can use you. Their loyalty ends where the benefits stop,” Shaw’s Instagram story read.

Talking about his career, Shaw last played for the Indian cricket team in uly 2021 during a T20I against Sri Lanka. Though he is absent from the Indian side ever since then, but he has been performing consistently for his domestic side Mumbai, which he also captained to the final of the Ranji Trophy last year.

Recently, Prithvi Shaw participated in a three-day camp in Kolkata along with the likes of Chetan Sakariya and Manish Pandey, among other domestic players. Sourav Ganguly, a great former captain of India, kept an eye on it.

Shaw will be next seen in action in the upcoming 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League, where he will be seen playing for Delhi Capitals. Shaw was one of the players DC retained ahead of the IPL 2023 Auctions.

In IPL 2022, Shaw scored 283 runs in 10 matches in the season, playing at an impressive strike rate of 147.45.
