Ellyse Perry – the legend of women’s cricket, and arguably the GOAT women’s cricketer – has won the hearts of the fans once again after pictures of her cleaning the RCB dugout after an WPL 2023 game went viral.
RCB have had a poor tournament so far having lost 5 out of their 5 matches at the time of writing. They face UP Warriorz on Wednesday at the DY Patil Stadium in a must-win encounter to remain alive in the race for the knockouts.
Even though RCB has had a miserable season so far, Ellyse Perry has maintained her grace and also her form on the field as she’s been RCB’s best batter in the season.
The Australian legend also did her best to clean up the plastic bottles and other trash that the RCB players and staff left at their dugout.

The 32-year-old Ellyse Perry won the hearts of the fans with her post-match gesture of cleaning up the leftover bottles and trash and placing it in the dustbin.
Already a famous and adored player in India, the images of this great act from the greatest women’s cricketer went viral on social media and fans can’t stop loving her even more. With this act, Perry gave another reason why budding cricketers must have her as their role model, both as a player and as a person.
Check out the reactions of fans to Ellyse Perry’s gesture:

At the time of writing, Ellyse Perry is the second-leading runscorer in the tournament: after 5 knocks, the Australian has scored 205 runs at an average of 41, only behind Meg Lanning who has scored 221 runs.
Despite losing 5 out of 5 matches, RCB still has a chance to qualify for the knockouts of the WPL 2023
Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals, with 10 points and 8 points respectively in 5 matches each, seem to have secured the top two spots, and the other 3 teams remain in contention for the remaining 3rd spot.
If RCB win their last three games, it is still possible that RCB could finish in the 3rd slot without even NRR coming into play.
If MI win every game except the one against RCB, and if DC win two of their last three (losing only to Mumbai Indians), then those two teams will finish on 14 and 12 points.
Then, if UP Warriorz (4 points in 4 matches so far) lose all their remaining games – which means they will stay on four points – and if Gujarat Giants (2 points in 4 matches so far) also finish on 4 points ( if they lose all their remaining games except the one against UP Warriorz) – then in this scenario, RCB, after winning their remaining 3 matches, will finish with 6 points, above UP and GG, both with 4 points each in this scenario.
Now, if gods are not so much blessing RCB, there is still another way that involves the involvement of NRR.
If UP or GG win just one more match (taking the side to at most 6 points), it could still come down to run rates. Currently, despite losing 5 matches, RCB have a better NRR than GG (-2.109 to -3.397).
Such a turnaround by RCB – losing 5, then winning 3 on a trot and qualifying for the next round – seems almost impossible, but well, it is Cricket, and here, anything is possible. It isn’t over until it’s actually over.
