For the unversed, since 2009, the Pakistani players are not allowed to play in the Premier League due to the border and political tensions between the two countries. Only in the 2008 season did the Pakistani players featured in the Indian League, with the likes of Kamran Akmal and Sohail Tanvir winning the League 2008 trophy with Rajasthan Royals under Shane Warne‘s captaincy.

After 2008, the BCCI didn’t allow the Pakistani players in the Indian League. However, a few ex-Pakistani cricketers were being employed as commentators – like Ramiz Raja – and others in the coaching departments – like Wasim Akram at KKR.
