ICC Player Rankings for ODI Bowlers: Saeed Ajmal still dominating; Dale Steyn at No. 3

In the Reliance ICC Player Rankings for ODI Bowlers, Saeed Ajmal and Sunil Narine continue their hold over the top two spots, despite the fact that they withdrew from the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 due to a cloud existing over their bowling actions.

South Africa fast bowler Dale Steyn is at No. 3 spot in ICC Players Rankings for ODI Bowlers. Steyn is 11 points behind Sunil Narine.

New Zealand’s fast bowling pair of Tim Southee and Trent Boult have made significant gains courtesy of their brilliant performances in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 so far. Southee is No. 12 in the list, while Boult’s 10 wickets to date have put him in a career-high 24th place.

South Africa’s wrist spinner Imran Tahir, Australia speedster Mitchell Starc and Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Irfan have all achieved career-best rankings.

Imran Tahir has jumped seven places to fourth following his nine wickets in three matches in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015. Mitchhell Starc has gained two places to fifth following his eight wickets in two matches and Irfan’s five wickets have given him a place inside the top.

There’s no Indian bowler in top 10, but Mohammad Shami and Ravichandran Ashwin made upward movements. Shami has gained 14 places and is now in 11th position while Ashwin’s eight wickets to date have helped him climb six places to 16th. Ravichandran Ashwin bowled brilliantly in the pool game against UAE and took first five wicket haul in ODI career.

Ireland’s left-arm spinner George Dockrell is the highest-ranked bowler amongst the Associate Member countries. Dockrell’s good performances in ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 have put him in 28th position.
