Star Indian keeper-batter Rishabh Pant suffered a horrific accident when his luxury car rammed into a road divider. He had a miraculous escape as he suffered a horrific car accident on Friday. The star batter has suffered two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee, and has also hurt his right wrist, ankle, and toe and has suffered abrasion injuries on his back, as per the official update provided by the BCCI.
The tragic accident took place on the Delhi-Dehradun highway, and the car took three or four spins after hitting the divider. Rishabh, who was alone in his car, had to break the windshield in order to rescue himself from the car. Pant was rescued by the bus driver Sushil Kumar and his conductor, who reached right on time and helped Pant.
Rishabh Pant was shifted to Max Hospital in Dehradun, where he was receiving treatment in the ICU at first and was then later shifted to a private cabin for risk of infection. For further treatment, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has airlifted Pant to the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai, where he will undergo surgery. In fact, BCCI secretary Jay Shah has said that the board will be taking full care of Pant at their own expense.
“Rishabh is a very important player and we have been closely monitoring his situation. I have decided that BCCI will take care of his medical expenses and we will airlift Pant today (Wednesday) to Mumbai’s Kokilaben Hospital for further treatment. The BCCI will take care of Pant’s medical expenses and provide all help,” Shah told The Indian Express.
Meanwhile, India’s first individual Olympic gold medallist, Abhinav Bindra welcomed the efforts of the BCCI and praised the Indian board for taking full responsibility for the recovery of the injured Rishabh Pant. He wrote:
“Wonderful that the board is looking after Rishabh’s recovery. Must also provide psychological support as part of the healing and recovery process,” Bindra tweeted.

The BCCI also issued an official statement on Pant’s further treatment, “He will be under the direct supervision of Dr Dinshaw Pardiwala, Head – the Centre for Sports Medicine, and Director – Arthroscopy & Shoulder Service at the hospital. Rishabh will undergo surgery and subsequent procedures for ligament tears and will continue to be monitored by the BCCI Medical Team throughout his recovery and rehabilitation.”
“The Board will make every effort to aid and expedite the recovery process of Rishabh and will provide him with all the support he needs during this period,” the statement further mentioned.
