Aakash Chopra Is Getting Trolled For His Latest Tweet: Shubman Gill registered his maiden ODI – and international – century on Monday, in Harare, as he carved out a terrific innings of 130 runs from 97 balls in the third ODI against Zimbabwe.
Coming into the game, Gill, who had hit 82* in the first ODI as an opener, has been shifted to number 3 from the second ODI because KL Rahul was promoted to open the innings in order to gain some game time ahead of the Asia Cup.
Rahul could manage only 1 and 30 in the two innings, but it was Gill who made the biggest statement with a three-figure score.
Aakash Chopra lauds ‘kid’ Shubman Gill; gets trolled
Aakash Chopra would have thought that his tweet of applauding Shubman Gill for his century would invite some trolls on him because of one word: Kid – which he used in his tweet praising the young 22-year-old opener who is now into his third year in international cricket.
Aakash Chopra tweeted: “Shubman Gill scoring an international ton was always a question of ‘when’ and not ‘if’. There’s just too much class in the kid. First of many.”
This is Chopra’s tweet:

Shubman Gill’s century carries India’s batting in Harare
Shubman Gill came in to bat at number 3 after Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul had got India off to a slow start with their 63-run opening stand from 91 balls. He soon saw Dhawan also get out and then began to forge a partnership with Ishan Kishan.
The two youngsters didn’t hold back and played their shots with freedom in their big stand of 140 runs which was built in 127 balls. Kishan’s wicket, on 50, was followed by that of Deepak Hooda.
Gill, on the other end, was pristine in his timing though, and he sent the bad balls to the boundary while on others rotated the strike regularly to increase the run rate. He was eventually dismissed for 130 runs off 97 balls, his knock including 15 sweetly-timed fours and one disdainfully hit six. Gill’s century helped India post a total of 289.
