India pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar is one of the finest exponents of swing bowling in the world. With his immaculate art and skillset to move the new ball, he’s troubled some of the best openers around the world in different conditions.
One such opener he often had the wood over was former Australia white-ball captain Aaron Finch. With some deficiencies in Aaron Finch’s technique – his front leg coming across too often to incoming deliveries – and Bhuvi’s brilliant use of the early movement of the new ball, Finch found himself really struggling against the senior Indian seamer.
Bhuvneshwar toppled Finch four times in 2019 in ODIs, the right-handed opener managing scores of only 6, 6, 14, and 0 in those games. Bhuvneshwar Kumar also got rid of the Aussie star twice in T20Is and once in the IPL as well.
On Twitter (or now X), on Thursday, a user queried Finch about his issues against Bhuvi.
“Why did Bhuvi trouble you a bit? Could you elaborate? Is it your feet coming across?” the user asked.
Finch came up with a cheeky, hilarious response that hailed Bhuvneshwar’s bowling.
Finch replied: “Yep!! Tried for 15 years to stop that happening.”
Fans loved this reply from the former Australian captain and praised him for his honesty.

Meanwhile, Finch retired from international cricket earlier this year. From 2011 to 2022, he played 5 Tests, 146 ODIs, and 103 T20Is for Australia, amassing 8804 runs across the three formats with the help of 19 centuries and 51 fifties.
Finch currently holds the record for the highest score in T20Is – 172 he made vs Zimbabwe in Harare in 2018. Aaron Finch captained Australia to the 2021 T20 World Cup title in the UAE, delivering Australia’s first World T20 trophy.
Talking about Bhuvneshwar Kumar, he’s out of the Indian team currently and has not played for India since November 2022. He has not featured in an ODI since January 2022, and doesn’t look to be in the plans of the management for the World Cup 2023.
