Rishabh Pant was shifted to Max Hospital in Dehradun, where he was receiving treatment in the ICU at first and was then later shifted to a private cabin for risk of infection. For further treatment, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has airlifted Pant to the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai, where he will undergo surgery. In fact, BCCI secretary Jay Shah has said that the board will be taking full care of Pant at their own expense.

“Rishabh is a very important player and we have been closely monitoring his situation. I have decided that BCCI will take care of his medical expenses and we will airlift Pant today (Wednesday) to Mumbai’s Kokilaben Hospital for further treatment. The BCCI will take care of Pant’s medical expenses and provide all help,” Shah told The Indian Express.

Meanwhile, India’s first individual Olympic gold medallist, Abhinav Bindra welcomed the efforts of the BCCI and praised the Indian board for taking full responsibility for the recovery of the injured Rishabh Pant. He wrote:

“Wonderful that the board is looking after Rishabh’s recovery. Must also provide psychological support as part of the healing and recovery process,” Bindra tweeted.
